ERSO (Estonian National Symphony Orchestra) Day at Viimsi Artium

For the third consecutive year, the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra (ERSO) transforms Viimsi Artium into a day-long music festival. From midday to evening, audiences can experience ERSO’s diverse ensembles in Artium’s various halls. The program starts with intimate duets and culminates in a grand symphony concert. This special event offers a unique opportunity to hear ERSO’s musicians shine as soloists and chamber musicians.

The program features a captivating blend of timeless classics, rare gems, and engaging music for children. Highlights include Mozart’s beloved “Gran Partita,” Bach’s renowned Brandenburg Concerto No. 6, and Debussy’s evocative Sonata for Flute, Violin, and Harp. Prepare to be surprised by additional treasures throughout the day.

The evening symphony concert is led by the acclaimed conductor Xandi van Dijk, who made his ERSO debut in February 2021. Van Dijk is a versatile violinist and a leading figure in chamber music. Since 2007, he has been a member of the internationally celebrated Signum Quartet. Additionally, he has served as the concertmaster of the Munich Chamber Orchestra’s violin section since 2017. A charismatic and respected conductor, Van Dijk’s international career continues to flourish. Under his baton, ERSO will perform Mozart’s Symphony No. 34 and Brahms’ Symphony No. 2 at Artium.
