Estonian young brass talents have a rare opportunity to perform together with Charlie Porter, one of the most brilliant and imaginative contemporary composers and performers of mainstream jazz on March 23, 7p.m. at Viimsi Artium.
Charlie Porter who has earned international recognition as both a jazz and classical trumpeter, creates stimulating and emotive original music with a rare blend of sophistication and organic spontaneity.
He has recorded three albums as a soloist, all of which have received a warm reception from both audiences and critics: his album “Immigration Nation” was voted one of the best albums released in 2019 by the American jazz and blues music magazine Downbeat.
The concert program includes the world premiere of the new piece by Raul Sööt presented by Tallinn Brass Academy in collaboration with Charlie Porter. The concert gives young Estonian wind instrument players a possibility to take the stage both as soloists and as part of the MUBA Symphonic Wind Ensemble of the Tallinn School of Music and Ballet.
