From 18 to 25 September 2023, the first cultural and community festival PÕHJA KONN (Nordic Dragon) will take place in Viimsi. During the festival week a variety of activities – concerts, performances and happenings will take place both in and around the premises of Viimsi ARTIUM as well as in different locations of natural beauty of the Viimi peninsula and its surrounding islands.
The events in this year’s festival program are linked by a travel motif – whether it’s a physical or mental journey.
The opening event of the festival will begin on Monday, 18th September at 19:00 with speeches and introduction of the festival programme and its mission at the Põhja Konn staircase, from where we proceed to Viimsi ARTIUM, where you have a possibility to join in sharing artistic experiences which take place both in different halls and lobby of ARTIUM as well as outside in front of the venue.
In addition to the acrobatic show “Sphere” by the Finnish Contemporary Circus Company Agit Cirk, the poetic video installation “(home)Body” by the US choreographer and director Cid Pearlman, and the solo concert “Homing / Still Life” by the Swedish/ Estonian musician and songwriter Liis Ring, there are also planned surprises.
We are expecting everyone – both adults and children, both from Viimsi, Tallinn and from further away, to take part in the opening event of the festival. Come, enjoy the event and celebrate being together!
