“I have been a resident of Viimsi since 1972. This exhibition at ARTIUM is my fourth exhibition in Viimsi, the last solo exhibition of which was at St. Jacob’s Church in Viimsi in 2017.”
I have been presenting my work at exhibitions on a regular basis since 1965 when I was a student at the Art Institute and a member of the ANK ́64 group in Tallinn. As a painter, I have been active for more than fifty years and have exhibited my both in Estonia and abroad.
The title of this exhibition, “The peaks of the mountains are in the shadows”, refers to a certain mysteriousness and irrationality that surrounds us. The selection of paintings completed in different years in this exhibition wants to deepen this feeling. These paintings are bound by my longing for the invisible that can barely be explained in words. Something that I’ve felt in introspection and that has been conveyed has been an inner feeling. Anyway, I’ve also wanted to draw the viewer into this dreamlike world of mystery”.
The exhibition will remain open until the end of April.
